Leading Measures for Improving Safety Performance

This book describes why OEHS professionals should develop leading measures and then providestools these professionals need to develop leading safety measures in theirown organizations. The existing problems with trailing safety measuresdescribed will enable safety professionals to articulate the measurementissues related to these indicators with upper management in their organizations.Definitions and examples of leading measures, consistent with informationprovided by reputable associations and standards organizations, such as theAmerican National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the American IndustrialHygiene Association (AIHA) are provided. The book focuses on explaining howmanaging safety processes and the development and implementation of goodsafety measures, is both an art and a science.
Case studies are included to illustrate successful strategies aswell as lessons learned.
