Sir Henry Fraser Howard (1874-1943) held various positions in the Indian Civil Service from 1897 to his retirement and election in 1923 to a Fellowship of St John’s College, where became the Senior Bursar. First published in 1935, this work describes the financial history of the college from its foundation in 1511 until 1926, making full use of the account books, ledgers and other papers lodged in the college archives.
