Dynamite and toothpicks sounds like it might be a title from an old silent movie, but it is really just a poem about the old days of lumbering here in the grand old Pine Tree State of Maine. Once upon a time things like dynamite were common tools, and there were many times a logger would have to use a stick or two to blow a log jam before it caused too much damage. With that picture in mind, I wrote a poem called Dynamite and Toothpicks depicting such a scene and placed it upon the renowned Penobscot River system. Also included in this selection of over 100 of my poems are some old favorites and some new material as well. From the dark and depressing to the glory of a new caught fish arcing through the air in a spraying rainbow of colors, there is sure to be something for the pleasure of all. Several new poems about fishing and getting out into the wild world around us are included as well.
