Delta Daughter: A Long Way from Home

Babette Milam Weil was born in the small town of Greenwood in the Mississippi Delta and grew up there throughout the 1950s, 60s and 70s. She lived through the years of flower power , protests, desegregation, women’s liberation and space exploration and the British music invasion.
This book describes growing up in this era with stories and personal experiences from Babette’s life. She relates stories about her family and friends as well as many historical and cultural events in her life. She includes historical information about events such as racial segregation, the Kennedy assassination, the moon landing and much more.
She hopes to share some of the wonder and innocence, as well as the controversy of growing up in the deep South at that time.
