She is also a CoActive trained engineering leadership coach, a Limited Partner in the Acquired Wisdom VC fund, and an advisor at Glowforge.Cate holds a BSc (hons) in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh, and started her career as a Software Engineer at Google.
She speaks internationally, writes regularly for Quartz, and her writing has also appeared in Lifehacker, the Daily Beast, LeadDev and in the collections 97 Things Every Engineering Manager Should Know, Living by the Code and The Architecture of Open Source Applications.
