Meet Johnny Romano, a quiet intelligent child of twelve. He's a typical kid with the challenges of making friends and fitting in. The buzzed-cut blonde hair boy with penetrating green-blue eyes fills his days with normal activities, chores around the house and farm, and attending Saint Joseph the Worker parochial school. Between keeping up with his little sister, Mary, and dodging the ever-watchful eyes of the nuns, Johnny's normal boring life takes a dreadful turn.
Harvest Moon centers around Johnny Romano who awakes from a terrible dream, the fourth one in as many nights. His dreams feature a 'Shadow-Man', a malevolent creature only the subconscious can conjure, or is it more? Could these dreams be premonitions of events to occur? Johnny is blessed or cursed, depending on how one looks at it, by a special ability first discovered by his grandmother. As the dreams unfold, so do weird occurrences that start to unravel the quiet small community where the Romanos live. After Mary disappears one evening just before the full moon in October 1976, Johnny assists Detective Carson in unraveling a quarter-century mystery of unsolved murders. The novel features the backstories of Johnny's parents, Maddy and Michael Romano, as well as a deep look into 'The Shadow-Man's' psyche.
