I am Samantha Laster and this book will shed light on my domestic violence experience. This book will be a source of courage and liberation. My intentions are to share my story in hopes that anyone struggling with a domestic violent relationship will get the strength to leave and begin to heal and recover from the trauma that comes along with being a victim.

I was a victim of domestic violence that began in November of 2011. My husband at the time subjected me to the abuse. I struggled tremendously throughout the years to fully cut ties. The healing process was draining but it needed to be done in order to recover.

I am fully recovered from my trauma and I hope my story gives readers experiencing domestic violence hope and the strength to put themselves first and change their situation.

Currently, I am 32 years old and reside in Springfield, IL. I am doing my dream job of directing a collegiate competitive dance and cheer program. I have a 9-year-old daughter that is thriving and is dedicated to dance as well. I’m thankful for my experiences in life that have pushed my physical and mental being around the sun for these 32 years.
