It’s three o'clock in the morning. I hear my phone ring. I roll over in bed and look over to my phone and my heart drops. I just need to smoke and go to sleep! I can’t even think straight right now, I thought. I kept telling myself, One more day Shon… one more day. Half-asleep and half-lit from the smoke, I nervously answer the phone. No answer! I’m curious but anxious. I hang up and realize that in these last few days, it feels like everything and everyone is closing in on me!The night was quiet, until I heard a key jiggling in the hotel door. There was a push and I realized the door was locked! My head pops up, to my dismay, there was another push, and I could see the door coming off the hinges. My heart dropped to my shoes. I know it’s over. There’s nowhere to run and nowhere to escape. For a brief moment, I was lost in time. My palms were sweating, and my heart began to race. I felt like there was an elephant sitting on my chest. My mind was racing a million thoughts per second. But the only thought that stuck was, Fuck! I’m caught! I’m about to lose my freedom and I won’t see it again for a long time. What happened next was a strike of lighting that would change my entire life. The flashlights! The riot gear! Guns out ready to shoot if I make one wrong move! I remember someone shouting, Get on the floor! Police rush in flipping the mattress demanding to know where the guns are. In my head, I know that there are no guns in this room. But there were so many cops, everyone was staring at me, and at this time, I knew I was stuck!
Everyone wants to know what really happened. Everyone wants to know how it all went down. Here is my story, pure and uncut!
