This historical romance novel is a work of fiction inspired by a true story describing the experiences of a Jamaican student who spent four years, along with other Jamaican students, in Cuba undergoing training in Physical and Health Education mid-way through the latter half of the twentieth century. The story is bifurcated into a main plot, the student's academic pursuit, and a subplot, the student's romantic involvement with a Cuban girl. The main plot is written using regular Times New Roman font, and the subplot is written in Times New Roman Italic font to differentiate the two experiences as they occurred independently but simultaneously.
