There are many youngsters growing up in rough areas of the UK who are not given the opportunities that they deserve. This appears to be more common in northern areas of England.
Some children can be labelled as a naughty child. The naughty label will stay on the child, even if the child makes positive changes with their behaviour. It seems that once a child has the naughty label, It can be hard to remove it. This is a typical story of just that, except this naughty boy leaves school six months before he should have done, leaving with no qualifications at all, feeling neglected, and having very limited possibilities of any real career ahead of him.
The story leads towards one dreadful night where he was shot three times. This was the turning point for him, as he later decides to study as a mature student, pursuing a career as a barrister.
The story is a good example with how anyone can turn their life around. Once you start to make positive changes, it becomes addictive. The issue is, most people when having a negative experience, or if encountering obstacles when wanting to improve, simply give up. In this life, you either sink or swim. I decided to swim.
