Barbara Parker is, and always has been, a daddy's girl. Her relationship with her mother is strained. More-so now that her parents have separated. With her own wedding day approaching, she finds her mother's antics to be increasingly difficult. Matiu Kawiti has never known his birth mother. left on the doorstep as a baby, he's struggled to know who he is and where he belongs. With Barb by his side and the Hellhounds watching his back, the gap is not so empty, but there's still something missing.

Barbara wants her mother's approval. Matiu wants to know who he is. They both want a solid family.
