Who Am I? is the story of a thing named Happy. Happy doesn't know what he is, or why he was created, but he is determined to find out!
When Happy awakes, darkness is all around him. He feels beside him and below him, but what he feels there doesn't give him any hints as to his surroundings. He feels above him, and suddenly, the ceiling lifts and light streams in.
A box. Happy is in a box. But Happy is unsure why he is in a box. Happy in unsure of many things, such as who he is, what he looks like, and what his purpose is. He must find the answers to his questions!
When Happy discovers a mirror beside his box, he sees his reflection for the first time, and Happy is unhappy with what he sees. He has hooves and horns and a tail . . . what kind of creature could he be? Happy's discovery has only left him with more questions, but when Happy discovers that he is the most treasured gift of a little boy, he learns that he is more than what he looks like.
Who Am I? teaches readers that there are many things outside of our control, but we have a choice in much of our lives, as well. In these choices, we can learn to love ourselves, love others, and find our purpose.
