This is a gripping account of the combat experience in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970, during some of the fiercest battles of that conflict. While serving with Hotel Company in 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, the young man was involved in numerous military maneuvers, including Operation Mead River, Operation Taylor Common, Operation Oklahoma Hills, the Battle in Death Valley, the landing on top of Hill 953, and the Battle of Hill 105. As the leader of 3rd Squad and also acting leader of 1st Platoon on Hill 953, Jersey fought the enemy while also struggling to keep the men under his command alive. This is a graphic first-person account of the horrors witnessed and the emotional price paid during combat as well as the lifelong bonds that form between Marines. Jersey was inspired to write this book due to the lack of recognition that those serving with Hotel Company 2/7 have received over the years. They fought in many battles from 1968-1970, but their involvement was never recorded.
