Address of Elbert H. Gary, President, American Iron and Steel Institute

This is a report given by Elbert H. Gary, president of the American Iron and Steel Institute, in which he discusses the state of the industry in 1911. Gary speaks about the role of regulation and government intervention in business, and argues that the steel industry should be allowed to operate freely. Though the report is focused on a specific industry at a specific time in history, Gary's arguments about the role of government in business are still relevant today.
