Food Safety and Government Regulation of Coliform Bacteria

This publication presents the testimony and prepared statements from the 1991 hearing on food safety and government regulation of coliform bacteria in the United States. The hearing provides insight into the actions that regulatory agencies take when dealing with issues of public health and safety in the food industry, specifically in regards to coliform bacteria leading to pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli. The hearing features four panels of experts and government officials involved in the regulation of food safety, including representatives from the FDA and USDA.
