Lyndsay was a prominent figure at the court of James V of Scotland and served as Lion King at Arms, responsible for heraldic matters. His poems reflect his political and social concerns as well as his love of Scottish tradition and folklore. This edition includes notes and commentary by the editor, as well as illustrations of Lyndsay's coat of arms.
