Robert John Thornton (1768 -1837), an English physician and botanical writer commissioned several artists and engravers, utilising several techniques including, aquatint, mezzotint, engraving, and etching to complete the artwork for publication. Within this book, there are beautiful depictions of flowers including Roses, The Queen Plant, The Quadrangular Passion Flower, and many more. The prints are one-sided and can be removed from the book by either using a box cutter or scissors, the illustrations are ideal for either framing or art and craft projects.
