A Rock Called Diamond

Although his mom often tells him how awesome he is, Lit'tle Rock finds it hard to think that he’s anything special. He knows that he looks very different from all the rocks, stones, and pebbles in the town of Rocksville. He doesn’t have his father’s strength or his mother’s unique shade of red. And all the kids at his school make fun of him. It’s especially hard when the sun shines on him because then he can’t hide his strange color.

Lit'tle’s mom, Mrs. Ruddy, shows him how to have patience and courage. Her small pebble doesn’t know this, but Mrs. Ruddy has received a special message about Lit'tle’s purpose. He isn’t meant to live the same life as all the other rocks in town, and soon he will learn just what God’s special plan for him is.

In this inspirational allegory, Lit'tle and the other rocks of Rocksville learn a very important lesson about the importance of celebrating their God-given differences. Once Lit'tle learns to ignore the taunts of his classmates and listen to the voice in his own heart, he finds he is able to bring joy and light into the world-just by being himself.
