Mere minutes after arriving at their Nantucket family beach home, 9-year-old Scotty Sullivan was out the back door, scrambling toward the shore, with Larry, the family dog-fast on his heels. Now late in the afternoon in mid-spring, the typical summer beach crowd visitors were still weeks away. Then Scotty became aware of an odd-looking object, hovering just above the crashing surf. In an age of hobbyist’s drones and all sorts of flying gadgets, he wasn’t overly concerned until the large flying object moved much, much, closer. A storm was brewing and dark clouds blanketed the sky. Nervously, Scotty turned and tried to spot his house-somewhere off behind the dunes-but it would be sixteen years before he’d see it again. Reviews:

Human meets alien story with a heart. A must-read Adventure SciFi Space Opera. I have long read Mr. McGinnes’ stories and always look forward to his new tales. I started with Scrapyard Ship, then the Star Watch box set, and then Ship Wrecked Stranded on an Alien World, all of them, great action adventure military science fiction.

This one, Boy Gone, is excellent. He develops his characters with a fine hand. They are real and imperfect but interesting. This story also brings in a cautionary note about what could happen if we don’t take the time to listen. It’s an easy read. Progressing through the necessary background to a hopeful conclusion. I am eagerly awaiting the next part of the journey that this novel promises.- Irene

How would you feel if faced with this problem? Very interesting concept and well thought out. I could picture the unbelief of listening to the ‘wild’ tales that were being told and the urgency of the message the ‘boy’ was trying to get them to believe! This story is a great blend of hardcore scifi and fun space opera- Gwen

Boy Gone by Mark Wayne McGinnis / Another NEW (to me) author Oh boy, oh boy! I can’t wait for the sequel to come out. Thanks to KINDLE my semi-retirement is now Fantastic!-

Fun Entertaining Space Opera Science Fiction / Great Read Very well written with enough depth to keep it interesting but not too complicated to get lost. Very good characters and backstories.I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.- Charles Stites

Great read. Well done. This is an interesting approach to the survival of humanity theme. Well written as all of your stories are. I can hardly wait for the next episode. Keep up the good work.- The Old Dude

Robert’s Review Another good start on a series by MWM. I liked the Scrapyard series and Star Watch. This main character Scotty is off to a good start and has quite a challenge in front of him. Thanks for the GoodRead.- Robert

This is an excellent read! What a GREAT story Mr.McGinnis! Thumbs-up and I can’t wait to read the next book !! The action NEVER STOPS! This has been a fantastic book. I am hooked! This was fun- an unusual alien abduction, a plot that involves scifi and NASA, outer space a quaint seaside Nantucket town… very cool!- Bob K.

Dang It, McGinnis You got me again. Again with the great premise; again with the wonderful story; again with the new friend characters. I’m in again hook, line, and sinker - and I can hardly wait for the next installment.- Densable

Boy Gone / Interesting read about a young boy and an alien abduction This book is very well written. Throughout the book you find yourself thinking that something like this could possibly happen. We do not know enough about space to say this book is one hundred percent fancy.- Alice Wilson
