After an exhausting battle in the cemetery on Halloween, Marianne, Ruari and his sister Erin, need some serious down time. A community production of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow seems like just the harmless diversion they need to regain a sense of normalcy. Ruari finds a lifeline building sets for the play, but it has just as many pitfalls, even as his sister interferes with his domestic life.

But someone with a sick sense of humor is playing dangerous pranks on the cast. To protect the actors Marianne has to expose the culprit whether they're living--or dead. Marianne's mentor, Sarah was only a phone call away before Halloween, but now she's ghosting her just when Marianne needs her help protecting the production.
