Thoughts From a Window Pane is a glimpse into the mind of Corey Carolina as he continued his journey of forgiving and healing while dealing with his father not being an active figure in his life as a child and into adulthood. Corey’s reason for the title is because he felt that we share some of our most intimate stories and ideas byspeaking them in a room and the window pane hears those stories. He would find himself looking out of windows at the skyline of Tulsa, OK thinking about all the successes he hoped to accomplish.Corey wrote another book, The Absent Father, during the same time he completed this book. His thought was that Thoughts From a Window Pane would be a complementary book to The Absent Father as this book shares his thoughts of his absent father and other situations that a child may encounter while growing up. This provocative look at the emotions of an adult who longed for a meaningful relationship with his father is inspiring and heartbreaking. Corey wants to promote writing about pains and struggles as a way to release oneself from the internal prisonof hate, anger, insecurities, and doubt. Thisbook is deeply personal and Corey’s hope isthat his pain and struggles will help motivatesomeone else to shoot for the moon becauseif you miss, you will at least land amongstthe clouds.
