Welfare Faith: For the Least of Us

Many evangelicals formulate more of their opinions from news sources or Christian talking heads, rather than from God’s Word. When this happens, groupthink can occur and unhelpful stereotypes can form. Not only does this impact our worldview, but it also affects how we minister to those in our community. If we are not careful, the caricatures that surface regarding certain groups of people may not just thwart our desires to love and serve them, but also cause us to fall into sin. Kyle’s storytelling and insight into Scripture is wonderfully told and shared, and gives insightful parallels to spiritual poverty and the nature of sin. Jesus’ words in Matthew 5 come to mind, Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God. Kyle most certainly expresses the kingdom and inspires others to do so as well.
