The Magic Nation Day Camp

Mrs. Wright and her crew of volunteers orchestrate an amazing day camp for Fall City’s children. The magic begins when the outdoor gazebo becomes a cozy clubhouse. Fantasy surrounds New Year’s Eve, May Day, a pioneer fair, a scavenger hunt, and a talent show. Mrs. Wright still has magical, but practical, answers to the problems of growing up. The Magic Middle School Crew, soon to become the Magic Nation Freshmen, rely on her advice and friendship. Mr. Charlie, Sheila Rae, and Lily continue their fantastic, sometimes hilarious, pet-capers. Rabbits and a Guinea pig join in the fun.History, geography, modern technology, and science mix with Mrs. Wright’s magic. Henry David Thoreau and James K. Polk mysteriously visit the camp. The Kentucky Derby, Celtic traditions, Cinco de Mayo, and an election pole raising all play roles in the book.
