Mourn The Innocents: A Ben Kaye Case

Past and Present collide. When badly beaten seventeen-year-old Valerie Weber is brought into the LAPD West Bureau by her mother, Detective Ben Kaye catches the case. But Kaye knows immediately that Valerie’s not telling him the truth about what happened.

Soon, Kaye is deeply immersed in a frustrating case with twenty-year-old roots that seems to be moving in several different directions at once. Along the way he encounters seemingly insurmountable obstacles, which lead Kaye to believe someone is always one step ahead of him.

Things become far too personal for Kaye when he uncovers a possible link to his own past.

Kaye badly wants to hold the guilty accountable. But the deeper his investigation leads him into the past he finds himself being pushed closer and closer to the edge in an attempt to protect the innocent, even though many seem unwilling to reveal what happened to them.

Ultimately, when his personal and professional lives clash Ben Kaye must walk the tightrope between justice and vengeance.
