Penny Wells is visiting her life-long friend, Trudy King, at her home, Hilltop, in Laguna Beach, California. When the doorbell rings, a life-altering letter addressed to Lynn, the young violinist virtuoso who lives with her, is delivered. Trudy gasps when she hears Lynn has inherited the ‘Haus du Violin’ estate in East Berlin from her great uncle, Ernst Weber. The house, a castle, is filled with art and valuables with historical significance left behind from Jews fleeing persecution during the second world war. Penny, the curator for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, plans to retire after displaying the monumental collections Lynn inherited and had shipped home from Germany. During the opening, Ms. Wells hopes to discover any rightful heirs to the pieces on display. She knows this internationally acclaimed exhibit will be the finest moment during her lifelong career. Bill Tennent, Penny’s nemesis for over twenty years, recently released from a lengthy prison sentence, resumed his retribution against her. He is intent on killing Penny and will go to all lengths to cause her pain and suffering. During the museum gala, Tennent confronts Penny, finally coming face-to-face with his adversary. Does he succeed in satisfying his psychotic rage?
