, The Lingering Soul Of The House contains a breathless atmosphere and an unexplainable dread of the unknown. It all begins when fifteen-year-old Cassie Ward becomes furious with her newly divorced mother, Leigh, for moving her away from all she has ever known as home. Louisville, Kentucky is a long way from the backward little town of Salyersville; located in the foothills of Eastern Kentucky. Once Cassie is unwillingly moved into her great grandparents’ farmhouse she begins to have larger concerns than just being away from her dad and friends. The house has a life of its own and it allows Cassie to know just how unhappy it is that her mother and she have intruded. Even with all the unexplained happenings and visitor from the past occurring in the house, Cassie begins to consider Salyersville her home…maybe because of the handsome Josh Johnson, the sixteen-year-old boy who lives on the farm next door. Just when it looks like she is going to get her wish to move back to Louisville she discovers that she wants to stay in Salyersville more than anything. How can Josh and she persuade her mom to stay in the house that has shown them they were not welcome?
