The significance of Genesis in the unfolding of God’s gospel of grace testifies to the continuity of God’s purposes and plans; and even provides vital understanding of end-time events laid out in Revelation. Whew–such deep and important concepts! Yet, when treated in poetic style, each chapter provides: a comfortable flow to increase understanding, an empathetic bond with patriarchal characters, and an appreciation for the anchor truths of Genesis that tie the books of the Bible together–from first to last. This book is an outgrowth of a Men/Women’s Bible Study, when author Jane E. Dickerson felt the need for a summary/commentary at the end of each chapter. The book naturally grew to include all chapters in Genesis because of the gracious acceptance of the study participants who clapped, asked for copies, and continued to ask for more! These poems have proven to be an important; and yes, sometimes humorous way to capture the truths and connections to God’s message of the depravity of man, but God’s provision of salvation by grace.
