Claire’s Unbearable Campout

Claire and her family are off on another adventure. This time they are heading to the Rocky Mountains for a camping trip. Three days with her twin brothers Chuck and Eddie always has its challenges, but Claire hopes they won’t cause too much trouble. When they learn a bear has been hanging around the campground looking for food, Claire realizes her brothers are the least of her worries.

The element that bumps it up to a 5 star rating for me, is that in addition to a good plot structure, this book does an amazing job of detailing mountain camping trips. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good easy reader, but especially to families with young children who go on outdoor adventures or are interested in learning more about smart wilderness guidelines.
