The contents of this book were published over a span of more than fifty years, from the day of my conversion to Christianity in 1969 to the date of the publishing of this volume in 2024. I can say without exaggeration that there literally is something in this anthology for every kind of reader: the lover of fiction will find award-winning short stories with spiritual ramifications in the "Bonus Chapters" section; the layman non-fiction reader will find interesting chapters in the beginning of the book and in the bonus section; the academic, I hope, will be roused by the middle portion of the book that tends to get more and more technical regarding topics of pentecostal interest the further the reader goes, until the reader gets to chapter 14, which is a semi-technical essay related to the reliability of the Spirit-inspired message of the Bible and its transmission through the ages. The Preface briefly explains how and why I, a layman, came to intrude into the sacred waters of biblical scholarship and found homes for some of my writing endeavors and an association with some of the earliest modern scholars within the pentecostal movement.
