This spoof novel was first published in 1953 as a serial in one of Guyana’s national newspapers while the nation sought its independence from the British colonialists. The British responded by sending in the troops.

Originally written by George Musgrave (using G H Mathieson as a pseudonym) when British Guiana was still a colony, this version includes a Foreword and Afterword explaining the circumstances surrounding its publication.
