This is a story about an adventurous and high-spirited 6 year old boy called Fussbum who goes on a bike ride with a little too much enthusiasm. As he starts out on his ride along a footpath he does not understand that he has to be courteous to other path users who also have a right to use the path. Along the path he meets a lady pushing a pram, children playing on the path and Old Gran who has lived by the path all her life. Because does not pay attention he has an unfortunate accident and has to be rescued by the local policeman. There is also a clear message of respect for other people. The story has plenty of fun and laughs to appeal to young boys in particular and the illustrations are superbly drawn to draw out the characters in the story.
