Lily’s Tales

With its unique culture and traditions, Georgia was very different from the rest of the Soviet Union, with flourishing private business and religious life even under the watchful eye of the Communist authorities. Lily’s autobiographical tales explore the life and struggles in this far flung corner of the world in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Join her as you are transported in the old Jewish quarter of Tbilisi and observe life in the tightly knit community. Together with her you will experience the struggles under the grip of the Communist regime, and learn about heart wrenching stories of people who managed to survive and preserve their culture inside communist society, to leave their country, and to be successful in their newly found home.
