Bringernooks of Wetherton Bee

Ages 7 to 11 years. Who are these odd little creatures? Why do they all have colourful beards? And what happens when a stranger comes a-knocking? This is the first title in the Bringernooks series, written in verse and illustrated in watercolour, a tale of little woodland creatures whose beards change when they interact. A unique story for readers who enjoy challenging gender roles, the female character is adventure-loving and the male character is shy and thoughtful; both characters (plus all background characters) have beards and braids, encouraging readers to see beyond the external divisions of gender and background, and to welcome difference.
