Carrie Goodwin lives a normal, run of the mill, family life on the outskirts of a town in the North West of England. That is, until, her best friend, Fiona Oliver, discovers the contents of a package left on her doorstep. Pursued by shadowy figures in a black sedan, Carrie and Fiona travel to the back streets of New York to seek expert advice from the mysterious Monsieur Boesflug. Convinced Fiona’s find is of international importance, he sends them on a quest into an ancient land filled with fantasy and danger.As they seek to fulfil a prophecy, the legend of the Meng Tuu-Kyi rubies spirals them into a time long forgotten, amongst the splendour of the palaces of Myanmar. But can they complete their quest before a fourteenth century princess condemns them to darkness forever?
