Nine year old Kate is very scared when her dad Sam is badly injured in a car accident. But then she meets some special friends and things take a strange and magical turn…About the Author: Born in Sydney, I’ve enjoyed playing with words and creating stories most of my life, usually writing about whatever is inspiring me at the time. A few short stories and articles have been published over the years, Under the Ghost Gum Tree my first children’s story. Definitely born with a fair amount of ‘gypsy blood’ coursing through my veins, I’ve travelled and lived in different places in Australia and overseas working in various roles such as registered nurse, massage therapist, horse trainer, carer, Yoga teacher, gardener, among many others. A few years ago I was inspired to head south to Tasmania to write my latest children’s story. Since then my partner David, intrepid small black poodle Ebony and I have been living the gypsy life on this magnificent southern island, going wherever that wind blows us. Jenny Nestor, gifted Melbourne artist and writer came into my life to illustrate Under the Ghost Gum Tree, and thankfully she’s still in it! About the Illustrator: Jenny Nestor spent her childhood in Central Victoria then trained in Drawing and Etching at Victoria College in Melbourne. Though not formally trained as an Illustrator she has worked in this field on various projects for many years. Her artwork has been exhibited in both solo and group shows in Australia and overseas.
