Annie Terrell left Cape Breton the moment she graduated from high school with the intention of never returning. So when her parents died, she gave her childhood home to her Aunt Jessie. After her husband’s lengthy and unsuccessful battle with cancer, Annie finds herself at the age of fifty-one alone and struggling financially. News of Jessie’s death and Annie’s re-inheritance of the home presents an opportunity financially but a curse emotionally. She decides to return to Sydney to repair the house and put it on the market. As soon as she arrives a whisper only she can hear threatens to resurrect memories she would rather stay buried.
