There’s nothing wrong with having fun in the theatre, especially when Shakespeare is the subject … I’d give it an ‘A.’ Michael Lazan, Backstage (New York) Teaching Shakespeare: A Trilogy tells the story of Dr. Keir’s descent from tenure-track college Shakespeare professor (Teaching Shakespeare), down to community college, adult education lecturer (Teaching Detroit), and finally to high school substitute teacher (Teaching As You Like It). A very funny, often cutting and totally engaging work … formidably delightful. Doug DeVita, Off-Off Broadway Review (New York) Teaching Shakespeare is playing to sold out houses for a good reason. It’s a very funny, witty, well-acted show. I loved it…. It’s a brilliant way to spend an hour. Go early, tickets are selling out quickly. Sam Mooney, Mooney on Theatre. In Cutler’s laugh-a-minute classroom parody, he is ‘Teaching Shakespeare.’ … Even while being pompous, he seems pathetic - a difficult feat and one that generates laugh after laugh… . gloriously funny … .
