Those humorous and lovable characters are at it again! Yes! Clayton, Grampy, Mom, Austin, newcomer, Sydney, and of course, the smartest dog ever, Daisy, embark on another river adventure.
This book takes them westward on the Ohio River from Louisville all the way to Paducah. Along the way, the group takes in more of the excitement of Louisville, then they walk across the Big Four Bridge to Jeffersonville, Indiana, where they see the famous red-hot candy being made. Grampy makes a confession as the group visits the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center. Why are the City officials and reporters there too?
The adventure continues down the Ohio, stopping at the Farnsley-Moreman House, and then Buttermilk Falls in Brandenburg, Ky. Unusual and mysterious events begin to unfold after a ghost tale is told to the group. Just what is happening with Clayton’s shoes?
The group enjoys the sights and beauty of the river as they pass Leavenworth, Ind., and they even get up on stage with the locals to do some ‘pickin and grinnin’ at the Bluegrass Music History Center in Owensboro, Ky.
Clayton, Austin, and Sydney learn more about river travel and boating, as Grampy and Mom give the controls of the Granny Rose over to the eager and capable youngsters as they approach Paducah and Metropolis, their final stops on this adventure.
