This book contains the British Army Officer List as of August 1755, the period just before the Seven Years’ War began. It lists the following: general and field officers, cavalry and infantry regiments on both the British and Irish Establishments, the Marine Forces, the Royal Regiment of Artillery, garrisons, independent companies, and officers on half-pay. Included with these lists are appendices that give context to this turbulent era such as a chronology of events and the political state of Europe.
