Where I’m From: An Alain LeRoy Locke College Preparatory Academy Anthology

This is the first anthology from the Phabb5 Student Author Book Publishing program at Alain LeRoy Locke Preparatory College. This anthology contains the work of twenty-two Latino Phabb5 Student Authors that participated in a semester long writing, publishing, and brand development workshop. Represented in Where I’m From are the voices of twenty-two writers who bravely offer their fears, hearts, and hopes on a silver platter for their school, community, and the rest of America to dissect. You don’t know me! is what many students often proclaim during a moment of confrontation with a peer, teacher, administrator, or an authority figure. Our hope is that Where I’m From will become the first of many literary stitches to help stop the bleeding of misunderstanding when it comes to Watts, California and the precious treasures she holds.
