Rum for the Pineapple Cup

Island magic strikes again. Not the meddling mangoes or sketchy sea this time, but rather one Cora Silverfish, proprietor of Pineapple Jewelry and Gems. Forced to buy his wife Ms. Lila a last-minute birthday gift at Cora’s shop, Raoul Orlean, Head of Customs and Excise, finds himself entangled in Cora’s affairs, from Customs fraud to her connection with the criminal Curator of Oh’s Parliamentary Museum. Worse, her bewitching gemstones are turning Raoul’s world upside down: he begins to doubt his wife, his best mates, and even his favorite book at the library. When Raoul’s investigations into Cora and the Curator put in jeopardy not only those he loves, but the black-and-white philosophy he holds dear, too, Raoul must learn to make peace with Cora’s colorful sorcery, or lose everything that gives his life meaning. His efforts play out against the backdrop of the annual football tournament, the Pineapple Cup, where, to expose the shadowy arts that make sport of the island sun, he will have to, first, embrace them.
