A little girl finds beauty and wonder in the most unexpected places in Mr. Optimistic’s delightful debut children’s book, The Dandelion Queen.

All Grace wants is to pick the perfect birthday gift for her mommy-so she ventures out to the fields around her house to gather the most beautiful flowers she can find.

But all she sees in every direction are dandelions…plain, yellow, ordinary dandelions…

Just as Grace is about to give up her search, she makes a wish and then she is visited by the beautiful Dandelion Queen, who tells Grace an enchanted story about the beauty that lies beneath.

While most people view dandelions as a simple weed, the Dandelion Queen explains to Grace the true purpose of the delicate flowers and their mysterious white puff that makes wishes come true.

Dazzled by the appearance of the Dandelion Queen and all the wisdom she has imparted, Grace runs home carrying armfuls of golden-yellow dandelions.

As soon as she arrives back at the house, Grace sings a beautiful song to her mother that narrates the tale she just learned from the Dandelion Queen.
