Scott places the book in the context of a of a long tradition of dark humorists like Edward Gorey, or Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes. It’s really a book for human adults, admits Brundage. But I’m sure there are some mature, non-zombie kids out there who can appreciate the macabre silliness of the story. Humor, science-fiction, counter culture.
