Born in California he travels to Spain as a young boy to train under his grandfather, the royal swords master of Spain and learns the arts of stealth and magic from his Gypsy relatives. After the death of his grandfather he returns home to colonial California. But his home is in turmoil. The Royal Governor’s demands for exorbitant taxes leave the homeless and hungry. Farms and villages have been torched and burnt to the ground.
