She is known among The People as D. Grant, a moderately successful author. Among her people, The Feyra, she is known as Daliera Fontala, Head of House Darthar Na. The Feyra do not involve themselves with the affairs of The People. However, Dee does become involved when a young female Feyra, Sandral, the adopted daughter of Ralph and Sandra Fredrickson, is kidnapped at the orders of a high government official.
