Cape Coast: Coming Home Through The Door of No Return is a personal story of adventure, discovery, traveling through time and space and almost like entering into a different dimension. Alex Haley uncovered and shared his family history in the book titled Roots and in so doing allowed many of us that came to America by way of the Transatlantic slave trade to gain a deeper understanding of what our common ancestors lived through. I may well be the first of my family lineage to travel back to Africa where it all began. I’m hoping and believing that the reader will be able to see and feel what it means to return home after a sojourn that has lasted for centuries. I believe that Cape Coast: Coming Home Through The Door of No Return will enlighten and change the way you feel and think about Africa and hopefully inspire you to travel to Ghana and beyond to experience the wonders that she holds.
