In this sequel to Rooster, the two twelve year old boys, Rooster and Cotton, continue their adventures in the oak-covered hills and farm land they enjoy. They meet a new girl, just moved into the area, who introduces them to horses. They make strong steps toward growing up, and learn new lessons from these adventures.
