This book is primarily composed of writings, articles, and an interview by Luther Espley and his wife Edna Adelaide Currin. The title, "I Am A Latter-day Saint" comes from a story Luther relates about receiving his identification tags in the British Army. This story shows Luther's life long insistence and testimony of his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The major components of the book are: "The Autobiography of Luther Espley", "An Interview of Luther and Edna", and "The War Memoirs". The memoirs, are a combination of actual diary entries, which are sometimes quite short and enigmatic, and longer written narrative type summaries. They cover the war years from 1939 to 1945, and include Luther's experiences in the beginning of the war in France, the evacuation at Dunkirk, and campaigns in North Africa and Italy. Edna was not as prolific of a writer as Luther, but there are some significant stories from her life given in the interview chapter.
