Jackson B. Lindquist’s foxy wife, Joanie, and his friend, Professor Kerner, are bothered by nagging reality: Jack’s pulpy murder mysteries featuring P.I. Juneau Sherbinski and his vivacious assistant, Truly North, will remain a meager hobby. Jack takes their advice and changes course. With Bo, his golden Labrador sidekick, he journeys across Montana intent on gathering data from a demographic named The War Babies. But Jack has a flighty soul. With one beer and one conversation in a Great Falls, Montana saloon, he learns of the peculiar, accidental gunshot death of a highly respected area rancher, Charlie Larigan. Shazam, Jack’s original scholastic mission is lost to the wind. While investigating questionable circumstances of Charlie’s death, Jack’s curiousity unwittingly leads him on a life-changing adventure. A hair-brained stranger comes to town.
