Pop

This book is the story of Domenico Martino, a young immigrant boy, who- though he did not find the streets paved with the proverbial gold of the New World- did indeed find a land of opportunity, adventure, growth, and ultimately, a new homeland. Pop’s story spans two continents, the beginning of a new century, two world wars and includes reminiscences of the hinterland of Canada. As Pop neared his 80th birthday, he looked back over the years- years marked with joy and tragedy, success and failure, and the normal vicissitudes encountered by all of us. What makes his story more poignant, however, are the anecdotes, observations, and down-to-earth approach that color his philosophy of life with a warmth that is the real mark of a unique person giving us the benefit of his life experience.
